It all started when…

It all started when we decided we were going to attempt to climb Everest in 2018. We knew it was going to be super hard and we were ready to put all the effort into it, but a few issues made us abandon the thought. Besides the small fortune necessary to hire a guide and the huge risk of crossing the ice fall areas several times during the expedition, was the altitude. I discovered on Mount Rainier that my body does not like the low air density at high altitude. I found that even hiking to the 10k base camp - Camp Muir, where thousands of folks hike every day for exercise and views, required me to acclimate for a day or two at lower elevations. 9 out of 10 times I went there, I almost threw up and felt terrible. As it turns out, my body wants me to gain elevation at a rate that’s way below average. Long story short, Everest is not the place to test that even more, so we decided to cancel plans and enjoy plenty of other lower elevation places on this earth.
